Today is April 14th, and Day 14 of the challenge. I have choosen to share with you why I am taking this challenge. After my husband and I saw the movie “Fireproof” I came to realize that even though we counsel couples daily, Are Pastors of a church, and host a marriage radio broadcast. We had gotten away from the very principles we teach to others. I feel we had become complacent in our relationship, making time for everything and everyone else, while our relationship was silently suffering.
Each day seemed to be harder than the day before, but I believe in the end we will prevail. Patient, Kindness, unselfishness,thoughfulness, Not rude, Not Irritable, believing the best, Not jealous, making a good impression, Loving unconditionally, Cherishes, Letting the other Win, Fighting fair,Taking delight in our relationship. This is what loving our spouses as God loves us looks like at day 14. I won’t claim to have mastered all of these principles but I am striving to reach that point. What we forgot was anything worth having takes work to maintain it …..
So this is me being tranparent with you. I hope this is a safe place for us all to share how God is changing our hearts. As we “Dare” to love our spouses unconditionally. Hope to hear from you guys soon. – Pastor Diana
